Weights are divided by their own total, so weights that do not sum to 100% still return an average — it describes the work completed so far, not the final grade.
Dropped lowest scores, extra credit and curved grading are not modelled.

How is weighted grade calculated?

What is a weighted grading system?

What Is a Weighted Grade Average?

A weighted grade average gives different assignments different levels of importance, unlike a simple average where every grade counts equally. A final exam weighted at 25% affects your grade 25/15 ≈ 1.67× more than a quiz weighted at 15%. This calculator multiplies each grade by its weight (as a fraction of the total) and sums the results.
