Editorial Policy
Transparency, accuracy, and responsibility guide how we design, review, and maintain all calculators and educational content on GlobalCalqulate.
This Editorial Policy explains the standards we aim for when creating content. It is a statement of our internal practices and goals — not a guarantee, warranty, or promise of any specific result. All content and calculator outputs remain general information only and are governed by our Disclaimer and Terms of Service.
Our Purpose
GlobalCalqulate publishes free calculators and educational content covering finance, health, conversions, and everyday utilities across many countries. Our goal is to help people understand concepts and explore estimates in a clear, accessible way. Everything we publish is intended for general informational and educational use, and is never a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your individual circumstances.
Editorial Independence
Our content decisions are made independently of commercial relationships. Advertising, sponsorships, and affiliate links help keep GlobalCalqulate free, but they do not determine, influence, or alter our calculator logic, results, rankings, or editorial opinions. Advertisers and partners do not receive favorable treatment in our content, and paid placements are separated from editorial material.
How We Build and Review Calculators
Each calculator is built on a published formula or a published set of figures, and it is built by the same person who checks it. The process is:
- Identify the standard method, formula, or reference framework for the calculation
- Implement the logic and test it against worked examples from the issuing authority where those exist
- Read the primary source directly — the tax authority’s own rate tables, the statutory instrument, the published clinical score — rather than a secondary summary of it
- Record the source URL, the tax year the figures belong to, and the date of the check, and publish all three on the page
- Write the supporting explanation in plain language, with the assumptions stated
How figures that change by law are handled
Anything set by statute — income tax bands, contribution caps, benefit thresholds — is not written into a calculator’s code. It lives in a central registry, and every entry in that registry must carry the figures themselves, at least one link to the issuing authority, the tax year the figures apply to, the date a human last checked them against that source, and a date by which they must be re-checked.
Those requirements are enforced by the build rather than by good intentions. A set of figures with no source, or with a review date that has passed, fails the build and the site does not deploy until it is corrected. This is why a calculator that depends on statutory figures shows a reviewer and a check date, and one that does not shows neither: the badge is generated from the verification record, so it cannot be applied to a page nobody has checked.
Where a calculator carries no reviewer byline, that is deliberate and it means what it says — the method is standard and the code is tested, but no line-by-line check against a primary source has been recorded for it yet.
Rules, rates, and guidelines differ by country and change over time, so calculators still rely on simplifications and generalized assumptions. They may not capture every rule, exception, or recent change that applies to your specific situation.
Sourcing and References
Where appropriate, we draw on established formulas, official publications, and reputable public sources. We aim to reflect generally accepted methods rather than promote any particular product, provider, or outcome. Third-party data (such as rates or thresholds) can change without notice, and we do not control or warrant the accuracy of information originating from external sources.
Accuracy, Estimates, and Limitations
We strive for quality and take reasonable care in preparing our content, but we do not guarantee that any calculator, figure, or statement is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your purpose. All results are estimates generated from the inputs you provide and from generalized assumptions. They are not certified, audited, or professional determinations, and should always be independently verified before you rely on them. For decisions that matter, consult a suitably qualified professional licensed in your jurisdiction. Your use of any content or output is governed by our Disclaimer.
Corrections and Updates
We welcome error reports and take them seriously. If you believe a calculator or article contains a mistake, please tell us and we will review it. When we identify a material error, we aim to correct it in a reasonable timeframe. We may update, revise, or remove content at any time without prior notice, and we are under no obligation to keep any content current. To report a possible issue, email globalcalqulate@gmail.com.
Use of AI and Automation
Software tools and AI assistance are used to help draft, structure, and maintain content and code. We think it is worth being specific about where the line falls, because it matters for accuracy.
AI is not treated as a source. It is useful for drafting an explanation, for spotting an inconsistency between a page and its own numbers, and for cross-checking work — but no figure reaches a calculator on the strength of a model having produced it. Statutory figures are taken from the issuing authority’s own published document, read by a person, and that document is linked on the page so you can check it yourself. Where a page shows a check date, it records when a human read that source, not when a tool ran.
These tools can and do produce errors and omissions. That is precisely why the verification record, the source links, and the build-time checks described above exist, and why the disclaimers on this site apply regardless of how any individual page was drafted.
