Every date in the range is examined in turn; a holiday already falling on a weekend is not deducted twice.

total days = (end − start) ÷ 86,400,000 (+1 if the end date is included)

Whether the range is inclusive of its last day is your choice.

Limitations

"Working day" is not universal: weekends and holidays differ by country, region and employer. This tool counts every day that is not a weekend day (as you define them) or a listed holiday.
Built-in holidays cover national public holidays for seven countries only (England and Wales for the UK). Regional, state and provincial holidays, company closure days and one-off events are not included; add them in Custom Holidays.
Where a fixed-date holiday falls on a weekend the observed weekday is used (US federal rule: Saturday to Friday, Sunday to Monday; UK, Canada and Australia: the next weekday), but employers and provinces do not all follow it. UK bank holidays for 2020 to 2027 were checked against gov.uk.
India lists only its fixed-date national holidays. Holi, Diwali, Eid and other festival holidays move each year and must be added by hand.
The end date is counted only when Include End Date is on; the start date is always counted. A range whose end is before its start is reported, not swapped.
Part-days are not supported.
